Please join Redux tonight from 6-8pm for the opening reception of Colin Quashie’s (Plan-ta-shun). There will be an artist lecture from 7-8pm.
Quashie investigates serious cultural, social, and political ideas and issues, with sometimes raucous, genial and tongue-in-cheek humor through mixed media. His artwork raises important questions that involve scrutinizing the power bases of our social system, inviting us to examine our collective political perceptions. Please note that some of artwork displayed may not be suitable for young children.
In coordination with this highly anticipated exhibition, there will be a special panel discussion, moderated by Frank Martin, Doctoral Scholar in the African American Professors program at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Philosophy, Saturday April 7th, from 3-4:30pm. This panel is of no charge to Redux members and students with an ID. Admission is $5 for non-members.
