Yay! It’s Record Store Day !!
Today all independently owned record stores across the world will come together with musicians of all genres to celebrate the art of music. There will be special appearances and performances of a variety of artists to commemorate this one-day event including exclusive vinyl and CD releases and other promotional items. Locally, Monster Music has several storewide events planned including live performances, sales and a food truck rodeo.
Since music is a big part of our lives at Redux, we asked some of our artists to share what what they’re listening to. Here’s what they said:
Janie Askew Al Green Green is Blues….favorite record….got me through some tough times; Dolly Parton 9 to 5…….for cleaning the house
Karen Ann Meyers I can’t get enough of the bands: Austra –song Lose it, XX– song Infinity, and Hot Chip– song Thieves in the Night.
Greg Hart Anything, Anything – Master of the Hemisphere
Lindsay Windham What I have on repeat: Don’t Move by Phantogram.
Kate MacNeil Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap.
Tess Thomas Anything and everything from Youth Lagoon. Drowsy late night hammock lounging music doesn’t get much better.
Jen Ervin Live tracks by Chris Robinson Brotherhood – Seventh Son and Crash on the Levee. Other than that, I sway towards seventies blues/rock.
Kirsten Moran I have been listening to lots of different stuff… Bunny’s A Swine, from western mass, is my new favorite band; favorite song: All Day Alright.
Rebecca Fraser I have been listening to A$AP a lot.
Jane Ann Sweeney The Daylights and Jeremy Current….his voice seems to actually bleed music.
What are you listening to?
