The Art MECCA, a new gallery on 427 King Street, will be showcasing the work of  Redux Studio Artist, Austin Grace Smith, on Thursday May 9  from 6-9 pm. Austin, whose slogan is “…the adventure continues”, intuitively paints on wood panels, allowing the wood grain to direct her brushstrokes. Austin will give an artist talk on her process and inspiration at 6:30pm.  For more information please call 843-577-0603.

Redux Artists to be Shown at ArtFields!


Get ready for the largest arts festival to ever occur in South Carolina! The long anticipated, ArtFields, opens today, April 19th at 12pm. For 10 days, this epic event will not only present live music, workshops, and lectures; but, it will showcase 400 works of art, selected from a pool of 778 entries. The opening ceremony will begin tonight at 5pm on The Green, and will continue until 11pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

Many congratulations to the following artists from the Redux community (listed below) who will be exhibiting their work and competing for $100,000 in prize money. The top prize of $50,000 prize will be chosen by a combination of ArtFields attendees and a jury of visual arts professionals. For more information on scheduling, voting  procedures and more, please visit the ArtFields website.

Redux’s Austin Smith – Vision is Art

Redux Studio Artist, Austin Grace Smith, will be participating in the group show, Vision is Art with five new paintings. The opening reception will be tonight, Thursday, March 21st from 6-8pm at Carolina Eyecare Physicians, 1101 Clarity Road, Mt. Pleasant. A portion of the sales from this event will benefit Operation Sight, a local non-profit providing free cataract surgery to eligible South Carolina residents. This event is free and open to the public.

Other local artists to be featured in Vision is Art include: Alex Radin, Danita Cole, Jennifer Daly, Serge Skiba, Bobbi McLaughlin, Morgan Lail Rice, Jennifer Koach, and Ronnie Smith.
